“Getting to know each other in regatta” is back, after last year’s stop due to the pandemic, we start again with many new initiatives. The event dedicated to solidarity sailing, organized by the GV3 association (in Gonfie sails towards life), will be held in Brindisi on 26 and 27 June next at the Marina di Brindisi tourist port. 200 young people from various local associations will be involved.
For nine years, GV3 has taken hundreds of people out to sea, demonstrating that sailing has no borders and is an opportunity for everyone. The sea has no barriers, just follow the rules. Numerous associations were involved in the activities, friendships and consolidated relationships were born. Some guys are now part of the permanent crew of GV3.
There will be many initiatives that will take place over the two days, with the theme of legality at the center of the event.
This edition entitled “Are you here or are you doing it … Together on the route of legality” will be a moment of reflection on the recovery and conversion of assets confiscated from crime. The social role of these tools that can be reused for the good of the community. Among these tangible signs is Baron, a 15-meter sailboat confiscated and assigned to the GV3 association, thanks to which it has been possible to embark hundreds of children in recent years. Baron has just returned from the Brindisi – Corfu international regatta and among the crew members she hosted four boys from the Ostuni SOS Village.
Program. The events will start on June 26 with a photographic exhibition on assets confiscated from crime set up at the Marina di Brindisi and a visit to some properties confiscated and converted into activities for social purposes. At the same time there will be a regatta between the buoys and sea excursions. There will be educational workshops. In the afternoon at 6 pm there will be a conference entitled: “Together on the route of Legality Attention, recovery and support: the path of active participation”
Following at 8.30 pm in the amphitheater, the Violata show, against violence against women, by the AlphaZTL association.
On Sunday 27 June at 9.30 the solidarity sail will take place, always departing from the Brindisi Marina.
Getting to know each other in the regatta is sponsored by the European Union, the Puglia Region, the Municipality of Brindisi and the Coast Guard. Partners of the event are the Libera association, Marina di Brindisi, the Danish shipyard, the Brindisi section of the naval league and the sailing club.
